Newport, Oregon

Where is everybody going?

To the Yaquina Head Lighthouse?

Why are there a crane and backhoe on the beach?

This is the 68-foot dock that washed up on Agate Beach in June.

The state of Oregon has decided to remove the dock. They began cutting the dock into five pieced. It was a lot of concrete and steel to cut through. It took a little longer than expected. Last piece of the dock was removed August 5th, 2012.

It was amazing to see this once in a life time event.

Several news reporters were following the progress.

Ohh... I forgot to mention, they are going to save a corner of the dock to use as a memorial to the victims of the tsunami.

Arnold's camera is a day off :))
